Peace movement activist Bishop Thomas Gumbleton to speak at Pax Christi assembly in Crookston

The Pax Christi Minnesota State Assembly will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Mount Saint Benedict Monastery in Crookston, September 25, 2010, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Bishop Thomas Gumbleton’s keynote address, “Choosing Peace in Today’s World: Nuclear Disarmament,” will focus on questions related to peace and nuclear weapons.

Gumbleton is a “longtime national and international activist in the peace movement,” According to the “National Catholic Reporter.” “Gumbleton is a founding member of Pax Christi USA and an outspoken critic of violence and militarism. He has appeared on numerous radio and television programs, and has published numerous articles and reports.”
